12/2/09
I took my first big steps... well have been taking a few steps over the past few days. But today, I took a few independently in front of Khenchen Rinpoche, Azhang, and family. They were applauding a lot and I could not help but smile and clap....

Happy First Birthday to me!!!
It's my birthday and I will laugh if I want to, dance if I want to, eat if I want to... Today was a real fun day! Mommy took a day off. I woke up and there was a surprise waiting for me. My day started off with a smile, hug and kiss from both dad and mom. Then I walked into the kitchen and Ama DG fed me rice cereal - my all time fav. Ama Chodey gave me a nice hot bath, and gave me a real nice massage. Then I got decked up in this really nice Kira set that Angay had sent and I got to light up 21 candles that Aku Rinzi had set up for me. I made many wishes and I think each one of them came true today :) Mommy took a day off, and after my nap, we went to play in the park - mommy, me and ama chodey. I met Sara and David - the twins, and a few other kids. Then, I went to Century City mall, had more rice (the real deal), and mommy got me a replacement Sophie since I had lost my original one. After that, we went to West Side, and played in my favorite play area till I was sweating all over (specially in my new shoes from Stride Rite that Ama Chodey got me). Just when I thought it was all done, and nap time - we walked into Gymboree for my Play and Learn class. We got to play and dance, and go weeeee weeeee with Gymbo the clown. We were a rowdy bunch, and refused to go with the flow. Instead, we just ran about and did our own cool things, and drove the instructor a little crazy. By the end of it all, I had had enough and fell asleep in mommy's arms. She had to carry me in her arms on the ride home, in order not to disturb my beauty rest (hush... don't tell the cops). I slept a little and suddenly sensed an element of surprise. More???? I woke up to a wonderful salmon, asparagus and more rice for dinner. The rest of the family joined me and Aunty Karma Dem's family was super nice to join us on a weekday for my birthday. Not only that, they brought the nicest cake with ELMO all over it. Boy! was I pleased to see another Elmo cake!!! plus gifts too. Thank you thank you thank you everyone. I am so so so happy today, but definitely TIRED! Still, refusing to sleep, I played with my achus and amas for a little longer. Oh - I totally forgot to tell you about the flashes - kodak moments. I felt like a celebrity under the paparazzi lights, just I was totally posing and wanted to be in every click. Yeah - this was one great birthday, I can totally get used to all the fun, attention and great presents. Can't wait for the next one (they say I have to wait another year)! Good night, everyone - this will be one long night - I am totally exhausted and will dream about all the fun stuff today...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

So long farewell, we have to say goodbye
I hate goodbyes! Another sad departure... my ama tashi is leaving after 6 months. I had grown so fond of her and she has been spoiling me every day. She has been taking care of all of us, and it is so nice to have Ama Bom with us. But I hear she has to get back to the rest of the family in bhutan - they are falling apart without her :) We had a great dinner at Natalie Thai and then went straight to the airport. I thought of sneaking into her bag, but her bags were way overweight and she had 4 suitcases!!! There was no way to fit me in. Ama took off at midnight, and we headed back home. I am going to miss her so much, and all her fun play time in the part, the walks, the fish watching trips, and neighborhood watch. I hope she will return soon ... give my love and kisses to agay, angay, aku thinlay, achu tobchen and the rest of the kaka gang at home.

Happy Birthday to me (preview)
Although my bday is 11 days away, I got a preview. A grand preview with all the Bhutanese and neighbours. It was so much fun. It started a day earlier with Achu Palchen giving me ELMO that talked and played with me. Then Ama Tashi Bom gave me a Buggy, the one that we have been admiring for a whole month in the park (bigger kids go in it and I have always wanted one). Then Achu Jigme gave me a Pink Horse!!! This birthday deal sure suits me... I am beginning to love it! Oct 10th, started with great bfast. Then rolled up a big trunk that unloaded a HUGE Jumper, and blew it up right in front of the house in our lawn. It was filled with Mickey and his friends' pictures. The neighbourhood kids came by and we all jumped in it like little cheeky monkeys. After that, one by one, the guests started to arrive - then the day went on and on, many guests and gifts later, it was food and drinks all day long. Then, the most fun part was the ELMO ice cream cake (double layered too). I got a taste of it, and yum yum. I was so tired by I refused to sleep. Did I mention the beautiful dresses that I wore? Not to mention the Princess Tiara that mommy got for me. True Princess, yes that was me today :) I danced all night with everyone, and this was one fun but long day. So long, that I was so tired. I slept through the night until 10:40AM the next day! First time, I slept through the night completely. although, from what I hear, my real b'day is yet to come on the 21st. Yay! This was a preview because Ama Tashi is leaving in 3 days and did not want her to miss all this fun. Not sure about fun, but she did cook up a storm.

October 3rd - Chicken Legs
Mommy figured out that I was not a fish fan. So, she decided to cook some chicken instead with rice. It smelled ok, and I gave it a try. Yummy! totally love the taste blended with rice. It was pretty good actually, and now she makes it all the time :) however, I still get to taste all the baby food - pureed fruits and vegetables. My facorite is the rice cereal with mommy's milk.

Apa Apa Apa - my first real words
I have been talking a lot, but they tell me it is all baby talk and blabber blabber blabber. So, finally, I decided to surprise them with real talk. Apa Apa Apa, looking at dad. Ama Tashi bom was teasing Apa saying that the first name I call will be taking care of me the most in life. Apa was thrilled! and so was I... .I love my Daddy, although I tease him a lot by not going to him - love to see that face when he tries to steal me away from my aunts. Lately, I have been a good girl and I stretch out my arms to him, with the hope that he will take me to his office, and let me play on his fun keyboard. I already broke mom's laptop keyboard once, so I am forbidden from playing on it :(

Sept 24th - Bhutanese Blessed Rainy Day
Bhutanese Thrue. Last year at this time, I was in my mommy's belly ready to pop out soon. This year, we went to the ranch, ate, men played khuru, and I got to meet a few other babies. It was fun, but exhausting too. Finally, I got to ride a horse with aue tashi chode. it was fun!!! you should see the video, me waving to the by standers.

September 24th, 2009 - HH Dalai Lama
Today was a blessed day! I got to go to HH Dalai Lama's special private audeienve for the Tibetans and friends. We waited a long while, but it was totally worth it. Counting my blessings.

something smells real fishy!!! mommy cooked rice with salmon - apparently good for my brains, but boy does that smell bad! It does not taste too great either. I refused to eat. Maybe another day.

September 17th 2009 - GYMBOREE
I became a member of the new Gymboree Play and Learn at Westside Pavillion. They had been relocating/ and took forever to complete. I went to my first Play 'n' Learn class today with Mom, Ama Tashi and ama tashi. I met a lot of other babies and kids (I was the youngest), but that was a show stopper. I ran, climbed, rolled, danced as much, if not more than any of them. They could not even tell I was only 11 months old :) There are a few cute boys though ;) specially two Asian dudes, with mohawks... It was alot of fun, but I have been feeling under the weather lately. I think I am getting new teeth again! I already have 8, but from what I hear, there are plenty more to grow. So, I am been biting mom quite a bit and she is not too pleased. She threatened to wean me off, but my smile is all it takes for her to feed me again. I love biting the soft heads though, not too hard, and chewable. BUT I am trying to stop and have been redirecting my energy to my teethers and other toys. My next class is on Saturday (Music and Learn), and it should be a blast! I will get to learn and hear music from around the world, but better yet, I will get to play with other babies. Ama Tashi has been taking me to the park every day and I meet my day friends - Rosita, David, Sara, Ima, et al. She tires me out so much, that I sleep through the night (almost, other than subconsciously waking up to find mommy's breast). I love feeding while I sleep - multi tasking already.

Sept 15, 2009 - Happy 49th Angay!!!
Happy Birthday, Angay!!! Love you and miss you and Agay both. These days, I have matured quite a bit. I learned how to play on my own and crawl through the tunnel into the tent mom bought me from IKEA. Also, I know how to self feed, but pretend I don't know, so I will get fed with all the love and attention that I am so used to. However, I do love to mix in the adventure and play it difficult once in a while for fun. I don't think Mom or Amas are too amused though :) But I totally enjoy watching them try to trick me and take me from the high chair, into the lap, to the bathroom sink, to the walker, to outside, to singing, to dancing, to everything, to try to feed me... LOL hilarious, I tell you adults can be. One of the funniest is Aku Rinzi go 'lion in the jungle go roar roar roar....' while I feed... hahahaha I also learned to go 'grrr... grrr ... grrr' to achu palchen's queue - 'One Lion'. I learned how to shake my head rigorously to achu Jigme's "Okay okay?" I learned to tuck my cheeks inward to make a fish mouth, like my mom does when she holds me tight. I learned to lift my hand when Apa says "Kelzang gati na?" I learned to kiss goodbye from aunty DG. I have learned to say 'AAAAAAHHHH" when someone calls for achu jigme... hehehehe I have learned to run in my walker But most of all, I have learned how to make the adults jealous of one another. hehhehehe totally mischievous of me. I noticed that they love it when I swing on from one to the other, and get upset when I don't want them. So, I mix it up a little here and there. I do that quite a bit to Apa and Mama. Apa does not mind it but Mama totally gets jealous ( I love it!). Actually, it all started from me picking Ama Chodey over everyone. I love the way she holds me, and plays with me and sings to me. She understands every ah, oh, eh, blabber blabber that I utter. Or so she thinks she does, but at least there is some level of communication ongoing. She has a strong hold and also forces me to do and learn things (although I am half confused as to why I like it). Mommy on the other hand, runs like a mad woman every time I pretend wail :) So, I got my weapons already ... Ama Tashi Bom spends all day with me, makes the best food ever for the entire family, and watches over the Achus. It is sad her time with us is coming to an end. Although, I am sure Achu Tobchen must be super excited to have his ama come back. So, some day, maybe she will visit again ??? Please do... I will totally miss you.

Sept 7th - Labor Day Weekend
Long weekend, everyone's home. Aunty DG had a week off! So, we basically did a lot of SHOPPING, SHOPPING and more SHOPPING. Ama Tashi is going home soon, so gift purchases and ama bought tons of shoes and bags. hmmm.... interesting.... :) I am a little tired of the malls though. I love walking these days with support, and it is hard to do that in the mall. So, I make it a point to scream, yell, smile, except cry (that is so not my style), to get out of the baby bjorn/ stroller/ cart, and be hand held. Although, Achu Bow has learned to amuse me by stuffing my shopping cart with toys while the ladies go on their never ending shopping spree. It is like they are buying the whole store!!! we end up with so many bags each day and yet again, we start the next day. Hmmmm.... wonder if I will follow suit ? that being said, we also went to Stoner Park with water slides and fountains plus a small pool. I enjoyed it the first time for 10 minutes and then some big kid splashed water in my eye, and since then I am not a fan. I just hug Mommy, and peep from the corner of my eye. Plus, the water is not that warm and the bigger kids love the cool water, but not me. It is kinda chilly for my sensitive skin and I am not liking the strong chlorine smell. I can take it for 10 minutes, but after that I put my foot down. It is fun to sleep besides the pool though with all that water splashing... splooosh..... spluuunge.... and kids screaming... kinda comforting, strangely enough that I slept over an hour right in the middle of it.

August 21 - Uncle Rinzi's Bday
Uncle turned the BIG Four! we had a nice family dinner for him and Apple Pie for cake, since he is not too much into the sugar stuff. It was really nice to see him again (my third tiger went roar roar roar). Uncle Rinzi and Passa are leaving tomorrow for Montana. And we have Ruby's 8th Bday tomorrow in Santa Barbara. That should be fun, although we will be fashionably late tomorrow after dropping them to the airport.

Sea World - SHAMU!!!
Uncle Passa Norbu has been visiting for 2 weeks now. Oh my, he is tall!!! He can make me touch the ceiling without even tip toeing. He taught me how to raise my arm to "Moti ga mu, lab ya thu" ~ meaning "how is the chubby chub, lift your arm". sounds cuter in Dzongkha/ with Moti :) We went to Sea World while achu jigme and palchen went to Legoland. It was so much fun. I got to see SHAMU (the whale) dance and splash. We did not dare sit in the soak zone, but definitely enjoyed watching those who did get totally wet! I saw many different animals, polar bear, star fish (even held one in my tiny hands), flamingos, dolphins, sharks, and the best show was the Sea Lions. If you are in Southern CA, San Diego in particular, you have to go visit Sea World. Totally worth it. I was so exhausted by the end of the day, and slept all the way home.... dreaming of Shamu and the dolphins, great day.

Humpty Dumpty had a great fall 08/12/09
one little monkey jumping on the bed.she fell off and bumped her head, mother called the doctor and doctor said, no more monkey - jumping on the bed. My favorite tune when I am riding in the car... became reality today, when I was playing with Achu Palchen and fell off the lazy boy chair and bumped my head and scratched my right foot. Nothing happened and I did not cry at all. However, the grown ups think we are marsh mellows and I was taken to see the Doctor. I made sure he knew I did not like him, and he in turn got back at me, by making me take some foot x-rays!!! well, all is well that ends well. I did not have to take any medication/ etc. He wrote me off to be as good as new. Achu Passa Norbu (uncle actually) said that the 0.5 pounds that I gained this time might be due to the tiny bump on the head :) LOL

08/10/09
I am tired of the infant car seat - rear facing plus on my back! Who wants to walk when one can run, and who wants to lie when one can sit? LOL I am the latter. I can sit and stand with support, so I don't want to lie on my back anymore. I am putting my foot down. I think my parents finally got my point, and they bought me a front facing car seat - a really nice one! i love it. although, it can be rear faced too, I hope they will keep it front facing. I have been putting on that extra smile, to show them I LOVE IT!!! You gotta see that video of mine --- all smiles, I tell ya. It is fun to see the road ahead and not to stare at the brown leather seats anymore. Although, the restraints are not very comfortable. I want to be a free bird but from what they tell me, it is not safe to be riding without them. So, I am already breaking the law by facing front at 9.5 months (am over 20 pounds though). I might as well use the restraints.

July 30th - Airport Trip
Two uncles arrived today from Bhutan - uncle Rinzi and that other really tall one (P. Norbu). It was the first time I was meeting Uncle PN, so I was a little shy and tried to hide but he was so tall... he could see me easily. I love it when he picks me up and I can touch the sky!!! He brought me a wonderful 'BHUTAN' tee shirt :) I look like a total Drukpa. Aku Rinzi also brought me really nice clothes. yippee I love presents. It is really nice to have tons of family members visiting; never ending fun!!!

July 19 - 25: San Jose - Silicon Valley
Mommy had to travel for work and we figured we might as well tag along! all 5 of us - dad, ama tashi, ama chodey, achu bow and of course the star (me). We stayed at the Double Tree San Jose and mommy got us upgraded to a nice executive suite. It was fab!!! Huge room with living room, mini kitchen, access to the executive lounge and not to mention the breakfast buffets. Of course, i did not get to eat any other than few bites of fruits but I could tell the rest of the gang enjoyed it (from the extra weight all gained during this week long break). I swam every day and got to use my new yellow ducky float. You should see some of the videos... it was so so so much fun! The drive was a drag, but I resisted when I had enough and got them to hold me in mom's arms. hehehe am already the little law breaker!

June - My first Flight on Fathers Day.
Lots of more fun stuff... I am learning a lot of new things ... dragging my body using my arms, pushing with my feet, standing with some support, swimming in thin air (this is my favorite and I rock at it!). You should see my legs .. imagine a frog ... but million times cuter of course. I love to push out with my legs and beat them together... I have to show it, kinda hard to explain for a little one. I totally love to sing - loud and clear... some of my first words (ama, mmmmm, babble babble really but my family likes to think I actually tlaked :) I think I mentioned (or not) in my previous entry that I started eating some solid food. With so much happening, it has been hard keeping up with the journal entries. I have been introduced to a lot of variety of fruits and vegetables (pureed of course). My fav is pear and not a fan of the pureed pea.. yuck! I turned 8 months this month on June 21st and it was also Fathers Day. Mom surprised Dad by getting my hand and foot prints done. It was a lot of fun. We went to this store called 'Color me Mine' in Beverly Hills, and I could not believe the size of my feet. Quite humongous for an 8 monther. I will show it when you come visit. Then on Father's Day, we wished daddy a good one (had early dinner at Todai in honor of dad and uncle Rinzi). Then Ama tashi, mom and I took my first flight to Ann Arbor, Michigan. It was 4.5 hours and I totally loved it. We took the red eye since mom thought I would probably sleep through the night, but what was she thinking! With so much excitement and faces smiling at me, how could I shut my eyes :) I was good though, and did not cry at all. Although at times, the flight ride was not so pleasant. Overall, it was a lot of fun and I look forward to my next flight. I hear mom is prepping me slowly for my big trip to Bhutan sometime next year. we also moved house (from an apartment to a house right next door). It is huge and has a wonderful backyward and front porch. we got a nice bright big room but sometimes it is too bright in the mornings, ruining my beauty sleep. LOL but at least I can now blame my early rise on the bright lights :) Ama Chodey and my two uncles are now on summer break, and so the house is full all the time. I get passed around a lot and I think they enjoy it more than I do. So, it is a win-win situation. This month, mommy got a little more busier and has to work and be away but with my busy schedule, I hardly notice. Except when she comes home and I hear her voice, I totally missed her! Specially during feeding times. However, daddy is almost always around too, not to mention everyone else. I have been taking a lot of trips to the park and the malls. I surprised (shocked) the two amas when I grabbed a dress that I liked from Macys and the alarm went off as they were walking out the door.... LOL LOL that was fun!!! And oh, by the way, I am off the multi-vitamins! YAY! Now I can start to eat better. Or so I hope.

July 4th US Independence Day
I had my first 4th of July in Santa Barbara. We drove up by the Pacific ocean and it was beautiful. I was a good girl and sat in my car seat throughout. We stayed at the Double Tree resort and I swam a lot. It was so much fun. On 4th of July, the fireworks were awesome!!! Did not scare me at all, and the lights were gorgeous. amazing world we live in. Someone called Michael Jackson died few days ago, and there was a memorial in his honor in LA. From what I hear, he was a POP legend? I will have to look it up when I grow older. I am starting to talk a lot now (well still babbling but adults can understand me better). I can high-five, and also wave good bye. Ama tashi taught me how to wave in Michigan and now I have perfected the art of saying good bye :)

May - Lots happening
So, I turned half a year 10 days ago and I got my first life lesson. Apparently, there is this thing called 'Work' in the adult work and that is what mommy has to return to :( We were both a little worried and anxious but it all turned out ok. Mommy had flex time and was able to work from home mostly and be there for me. The rest of the family just chipped in and with Ama Tashi (BOM) around, I totally got spoiled. I was at my best behavior too since I did not want to scare everyone away. I cried not once, and my smile melted hearts away. Month of May has been just so much fun taking Ama Tashi around and showing her my hometown. I also learned to sit up on my own and wriggling a lot more now. I love doing that while they change my diaper LOL The other good news is that my iron level has leveled and now I don't need to take supplements. I am still taking some multi-vitamins and that I hate! It smells so bad and totally spoils the taste of my cuisine. I am trying to convince mom to not give me any. Oh, by the way, my two bottom teeth have sprouted (kinda since last month), but now they are fully visible and gives an extra charm to my smile :) Also, Mother's Day! We celebrated in honor of Mom, Aunty DG, and Aunty K.Dem at Olive Garden. I got to sit in the high chair on my own and that drove me nuts. I started throwing around everything I could possibly reach, and I could not contain my excitement. I tried to grab the bread sticks but mom won't let me. Dad and I got mom this really cute card. Daddy wanted to record my voice in it and tried to make me sing, but I was not in the mood (pressure was on), so I did not. oops, hope mom is not too mad at me :)

April - downside and an upside
Month of April brought lots of nice surprises and not so great news. First, uncle Rinzi left again to continue his PHD in Montana. Second, my Ama Tashi came all the way from Bhutan to see me on April 16th and she will be staying a while making sure the rest of us in LA behave. Agay and Angay were a little suspicious, and really glad that Ama Tashi was here to rule the house and spread some of her positive spirit. I had heard so much about her and finally so great to see her. April 21st, I turned half a year old. Wow! time flies.... I cannot believe 6 months of my life went by in a flash... geez and I have not accomplished anything other than sit on my own, two teeth, stand with support, and roll-over, and yeah, started on solid food. I love the pear puree but not a big fan of the pea/ beans. 6 months check up and the doctors realized that I had not been getting enough iron from the breast milk (apparently quite common in breast feeders like me). eeekks... resulting in iron supplements!!! and my mom wants to make sure I am getting enough vitamins and she added multi-vitamins to the dosage. YUCK! is all that I can say... I can't wait to gobble down those gummy bear vitamins like my achus. So much better than this liquid yucky spelly drops. Oh, and in order for them to confirm my iron deficiency, they poked me with big needles... I am a strong girl but this time the lab assistant was not much fun. He could not find my veins and poked me several times until mommy yelled at him. Mommy and Ama Tashi were so proud of me. I got a lot of extra love and care for a few days after, so it was not in vain after all...

March 2009
a happening month for me. Aue Bodhi was here, and we did a lot of touristic stuff. We went to San Francisco and stayed at the Double Tree Marina Hotel and the Suite was fab!!! I loved the bath-tub except it was too big for me, so I had to make do with wash clothes :( I loved the pool and it was my first dip!!! My mom won't let me stay longer than 5 minutes, I almost floated on my own and she dragged me out. I was not too crazy about the long drive up and back in my car seat... it does get a little achy after a while. They all owe me big time for I did not fuss at all. The drive to Palm Springs was much nicer and not too long. I loved the hot springs, and I dipped in them a little longer than originally permitted. I wanted to go naked as the day I was born but mommy stuffed in this splash pants in consideration of the other guests around. March 24th - Daddy's 38th Birthday! Mommy cooked up a storm, and it was also Aue Bodhi's farewell dinner. Everything looked yummy but I had to stick to my fav ~ milk...milk and more milk. Although, the flavor was quite a cocktail that night. Aunty Karma brough a cake and I helped daddy blow out the candles. Achu Bow baked a cake too!!! He surprises me everyday. Again, I helped Aue Bodhi blow out the candles. March 25th - bid farewell to Aue Bodhi and I let out a little tear from the corner of my eye. I was really sad to see her go but I know that she will be back before we know it.... March 26th - another trip to the airport. Uncle Rinzi was arriving :) never a dull moment in our family life. March 31 - Agay's 59th Birthday! Happy bday to you.... as a present I had my first tooth (actually two tiny ones sprung up over night, or so they think). I had been drooling for a while now, and they all went 'OOOOOHHHH AHHHHH ....'

 28 Feb 2009
Feb 28th - First LOSAR PARTY
hehehe, first of everything this year for me...first losar (bhutanese new years). It was actually on Feb 25th, 2009 but the party got postponed to Saturday. I wore my GhoChu that Angay Tashi sent me, really pretty albeit the large size. Took lots of pictures (dada will update the album really soon, so hold tight). The picnic and Khuru was fun but I got sun burned quite badly OUCH! still recovering from the red/ dry skin. At night, we went to Tara's Katmandu Restaurant - food was good, music was a drag - kinda annoyingly loud for me. I got tired, so slept on my dad's round belly for a couple hours before heading home to my compy bed (hehe my parents' posturepedic bed actually, now that I have learned to trick them into picking me up from my own crib).

 21 Feb 2009
4 months old... Feb 21, 2009
Today, I turned 4 months and everyone is as excited as ever. Ama Chodey said that I am no longer a newborn and should act as such. So, I showed her and now it is my way or the highway (with a little bit of whining and pretend crying... LOL). Aunty Karma Yangchen had gifted me with a hand print maker, which should have been used a while back but Momma and Dada were lazy and took them 4 months to get their act together. Finally, I got my hand and foot printed ... AWWWW so cute :)

 14 Feb 2009
My first Valentines...
Feb 14th - I thought I would be celebrating with my sweethearts in a romantic setting. However, I landed up in a park with the Bhutanese for Ashim Chokee's 2nd birthday. It was fun ... plenty of good food, outlet shopping after, and then dinner. We got back quite late, it was quite a drive.

 12 Feb 2009
Feb 12th - Laugh out loud with Ama Deki
I used to laugh in my sleep occassionally on my dad's belly. However, today, Ama Deki was playing a lot with me and I decided to reward her with a long continous laugh... I laughed and laughed until the whole family hovered around me. The world is indeed a stage and I played my part by amusing everyone with my laugh. Watch the video ...

Feb 10th - Mom's B'Day!
This was a very special day for my mommy, her bday! We wanted to do a nice fancy dinner for mom at one of her favorite restaurants but she did not want to go out. Instead, she wanted to cook a nice homey dinner for the rest of the family (she loves cooking) and do a small celebration at home. The Chief Guest was me, of course :) Mommy got a beautiful set of earrings and pendant from dad, and many other gifts from the rest of the family. I gave her a nice loud laugh and my irristable smile.

 21 Jan 2009
3 months old
I turned 3 months today and although it is no big deal, my momma and dada are overly excited. Everyone in the family have been repeatedly wishing me 'Happy 3 months':( hehehe. My parents are so proud of me and they have been checking the baby milestones. I believe I can support my neck, raise my head on my tummy, laugh out loud, squeal in delight, smile back at happy faces, and frown at unhappy faces, splash my arms and legs in the tub, follow objects with my eyes, and watch the Lakers with my dad! Happy New Year!
Happy 2009, everyone! I heard Aunty et al talking about going for NYE party and was checking my wardrobe, when I found out they decided to stay in and have a quiet evening instead. Boo Hoo, and I thought I would dance all night... quiet time with family watching people across the world ring in the new year sounds like a treat too! May there be peace, happiness and good health in all of your lives!

Farewell ...
Today was a sad day :( My agay and angay went back to Bhutan leaving me behind. I wanted to sneak into their hand luggage but Eva airlines checks and weighs the hand luggage too!!! And of course, my apa and aie would have been really sad if I left them. So, I bid my two loved ones farewell and prayed to see them again soon. I was so sad to see angay and agay cry and I just shut my eyes and went to sleep. The next day, I looked for agay to pick up at sunrise and angay to bathe me at sundown, but ..... wah wah ...

Christmas Eve/ day!
Like I said, holiday season... my first x-mas. I got quite a few x-mas baby clothes, so had to wear them all today! I got to be the cute little santa, sexy santa and big head santa! We took a family trip to Santa Barbara after stopping at the outlet for more shopping for angay. We stayed at a really nice hotel and I got to spend more quality time with mom in the suite while the rest went to try their luck at Chumash Casino. It rained quite a bit ... Uncle Rinzi et al treated us to Thai lunch in downtown ... Tom Yum Yum Yum

2 Months Old
I am almost two months old and measure 55cm tall and 10 pounds. The doctor said I am growing real fast, and if this rate continues, he might cut back on my feeding (eeeks); will start moving a lot more tomorrow on ;) Two months celebration does not come easy ... I had to get my shots - 3 shots and 1 oral. The nurse stuck them in before I was ready, did not even allow me to take a deep breath! Man, it hurt so so so much and I made sure everyone in the clinic knew. I think I scared my mom a little but really scared my angay (hehehe). Eveyone at home was so worried and I heard them say that they will take turns tonight to hold me tight and cuddle me. Everytime, they got a little distracted, I cried a little to make sure they kept their promise. All is well that ends well....

Trip to Vegas
My angay and agay have been spending too much time at home caring for me. So, we decided it was time for some fun.... Vegas, here we come! We got large two suites, one at Mandalay Bay and the other at Venetian Hotel (such a treat). Agay and Ama Chodey enjoyed the spa at MBay and Angay and Apa enjoyed the casinos at both hotels. Mom and I spend quality time in the Suites, discussing world politics hehehe Next day, we braved a drive to Grand Canyon but the weather was against us and Vegas got hit with its biggest snowstorm in 30 years! We had to turn back half way and I experienced by first snowfall... that too in Vegas! Can you believe that?

Uncle Palchen's 13th Bday
My uncle just turned 13 (look out! teenager in the house). I thought we would have a huge party but uncle did not want a big celebration, so angay cooked a yummy Bhutanese dinner, and ordered cheese cake. We also got a nice dinner treat from Aunt DG. Uncle Pala got an electric drum set for his bday which he has been beating lately ... can't quite decide whether it puts me to sleep or wakes me up.

Grandparents' Anniversary
I got to celebrate the 33rd Wedding Anniversary of Agay and Angay. Seems like I was born right before season of celebrations.. yay, moms been eating well (maybe a little too well... LOL) and that means - more feeding for me too! We had a great chinese fusion dinner and then surprised them with a really cute cake.

Trip to Desert Hot/ Palm Springs
I was over a month old and we figured it was time to treat grandad and granny. They have been glued to me in the house for a while now and they deserve a mini-vacation. We drove to Desert Hot Springs and soaked in mineral water for two days straight (I got my share too in my Dolphin tub). At this time, my granny and Aunty DG bathe me since my mommy is still attending New Mommy Bootcamp :) While I spent quality time with my mommy at night, the rest went to Morongo Casino and outlet shopping. I warned them all not to get me anything pink for another year! While the others were shopping, I also got to spent quality time with Daddy, who loves talking to me and I pretend I understand every word he says and smile away .... By the way, Happy Thanksgiving!

Boy, am I growing fast! I have been enjoying all the love and attention from everyone. Thank you everyone for coming to say hello to me with the wonderful gifts!

First Day Out!
My agay chose a beautiful orange stroller/ car seat for me. Decided to try it out and got my mom, dad, agay, angay and aunty Chodey to take me out to Hollywood. Yeah Baby! Hollywood :) It was fun but the sun was a little too bright for me. I am definitely enjoying the new Odyssey van although my cousins are complaining that the smallest person takes up the biggest seat :)

November 4th - Election Day
Today was a historical day for America - Election Day and Barack Obama won! The first Black President of United States. However, more importantly, I decided to finally come home after being pampered by the doctors and nurses at Kaiser Permanente, NICU. First they said my sugar level was not high enough, and then they said I was a little under weight. Truth be told, I think I was too cute for them to discharge :) In two days, another historic day! Coronation of the 5th King of Bhutan and celebration of 100 years of Monarchy.

Hello world!
I was born on October 21st, 2008. I was expected to arrive on November 3rd, but I decided to surprise everyone and come out sooner to spend more time with my grand-parents who came all the way from Bhutan for me. I had a pretty rough start, being distressed during contraction et al (did not like my mommy being in pain for that long). I started off with an infection, low sugar level and high bilirubin. I learned quite a few technical terms during my stay at the hospital and enjoyed all the love and attention from everyone. Was not a fan of the needles but I showed them how brave I was right off the bat! On the 3rd day, I decided enough was enough and extubated myself to let the world have a better view of my cute face :)
